About Rick
Rick Brown is Executive Director of the Institute for Relationship Therapy. He offers national and international workshops and seminars for couples, as well as training for qualified therapists in the theory and practice of relationship therapy. Rick has trained hundreds of psychiatrists, psychologists, marriage and family therapists and other mental health professionals.
Rick is a graduate of Florida State University, Princeton and Union Theological Seminary He is a pastoral psychotherapist and licensed mental health counselor with over twenty-eight years of clinical experience working with individuals, couples, and families.
Having trained with Harville Hendrix, Ph.D. Rick served on the faculty of the Institute for Imago Relationship Therapy. He was appointed the Institute’s Executive Director by Dr. Hendrix where he served for several years before stepping down and returning to his first love- speaking, teaching, and helping couples get the most out of their relationships.
Having appeared on the Oprah Winfrey Show for his expertise in creating intimacy in even the most difficult relationships. Rick is in demand across the country as a speaker, addressing relationships and psychological and spiritual growth issues. Rick and his wife Celeste have been married for 28 years, and have three children.
Rick has served as the Team Therapist for the NBA’s Orlando Magic.
