Having appeared on Oprah for his expertise in creating intimacy in even the most difficult relationships, Rick is recognized as a “therapist’s therapist” – the one professionals are most like to turn to for help with their own marital and relationship issues.

He has presented his Getting the Love You Want: Workshop for Couples to audiences around the world in some of the most unique places – from a castle for the Royal Family of Denmark and their closest friends- to the far corners of Namibia, Africa.

He appeared regularly as a “Relationship Expert” for FOX TV and has served as the therapist for the NBA’s Orlando Magic. He has spoken at every major psychotherapy conference from the Family Networker Symposium to Smart Marriages.

Business leaders have long recognized his skill in speaking to their groups –including IBM, Johnson and Johnson, Young Presidents Organization, and many of our nation’s banks, hospitals, and churches.

Having been tapped by Harville Hendrix to serve as the Executive Director of the Institute for Imago Relationship Therapy, Rick has trained hundreds of psychologists, psychiatrists, and other mental health professionals in the theory and practice of relationship therapy. He is the author of Imago Relationship Therapy: An Introduction to Theory and Practice published by John Wiley Press.

Rick is a graduate of Florida State University, Princeton and Union Theological Seminary. Rick and his wife Celeste have been married over 42 years and have three adult children and one granddaughter.
